Beyond the Prius – Toyota Mirai Fuel Cell Vehicle

Toyota Fuel Cell Vehicle
Toyota debuted one of their Fuel Cell Vehicle Concept Designs at the North American International Auto Show earlier this year and now the new Toyota Mirai, their production Fuel Cell vehicle is getting ready to hit the markets late next year.

With the electric Toyota Prius, the number one hybrid vehicle on the market, you would think that Toyota would continue to bank on electric energy as the alternate energy source of the future. Well, Toyota’s new hydrogen Fuel Cell vehicle, the Toyota Mirai, is starting to prove you wrong.

The Toyota Mirai fuel cell vehicle is certainly one of a kind. It’s a midsized sedan that runs on hydrogen fuel cell technology combined with hybrid synergy drive. It can go up to 300 miles on a charge and re-charges in about 5 minutes, unlike your typical electric car that takes 30 minutes on a DC Quick-Charger to get to 80% of its charge. This means that the new Toyota Fuel Cell vehicle will revolutionize what an alternate energy vehicle can do. The new Toyota Fuel Cell Vehicle will become a more feasible vehicle to take on longer trips, not just to the office and back. Well, at least it will when hydrogen charging stations become more widely available.

The Toyota Mirai will go on sale in California next fall, but until then keep checking back with our blog here at Haddad Toyota to stay up-to-date on the latest Toyota news and technology.

What To Put In Your Emergency Preparedness Kit

Woman placing cone on snowy road
Should the worst happen, and you get stranded this winter on the side of the road, your emergency preparedness kit could save your life. Be sure to put one in your trunk, just in case you should need it.

With the holidays coming up, and road trips inevitable, it’s important to be prepared for your trip. No, we don’t mean ensuring that you have packed everything from your extra shoes to your toothbrush. Nor do we mean ensuring that your suitcase get in the car. We mean making sure that if the worst should happen, and you get stuck on the side of the road somewhere this winter, that you are prepared to stick it out.

While this may not be a fun thing to think about, every winter we tend to hear stories about people who got stuck in a snow bank and had to survive in their car.  If it happened to you, would you have enough supplies to make it until help arrived? Sadly, most people don’t. That’s why at Haddad Toyota we suggest that you have an emergency preparedness kit in your car at all times. This can simply be a small duffle bag or Tupperware container that you keep tucked away in the corner of your car, but this kit could save your life one day. Here’s a short list of what to include in your kit:

  •  Water
  • Snacks
  • A flashlight
  • First aid kit
  • Extra cash
  • Blankets
  • Matches

Let us know what else you think could be useful in your emergency preparedness kit and be sure to stay safe and be prepared for whatever gets thrown your way this winter.

Next Generation Toyota Prius Draws From Racer

2014 Toyota Prius
The next generation Toyota Prius will look to borrow fuel economy features from Toyota’s TS040 Hybrid Le Mans race car which just make might it the coolest hybrid around.

Want great gas mileage and an exciting ride? Well, the next generation Toyota Prius might just be the car you’re looking for. Due out in 2016, the next generation Toyota Prius will have parts that are currently being tested in its performance TS040 Hybrid Le Mans race car. Yes, a race car. While the President of the Toyota Motorsport GmbH, Yoshiaki Kinoshita has yet to release just what these parts are, we can’t help but be excited to think of the high-level performance capabilities that will be included in the next Prius.

Of course, these parts are probably the ones which are being used to improve fuel efficiency in the racer since the new FIA World Championship rules went into place which have put an emphasis on fuel economy in the racing segment. However, all of us here at Haddad Toyota figure that if these parts are good enough for the TS040 racer, they are good enough for us. Learn more about the next generation Toyota Prius and the exciting new Toyota technology in development for it here at Haddad Toyota’s blog as we will keep you up-to-date on all the latest Toyota news.

2015 Toyota Tacoma Competition Doesn’t Stand a Chance

2015 Toyota Tacoma
The 2015 Toyota Tacoma outshines the competition. Learn how its standard features make it stand out from the crowd

Small and Mighty – the 2015 Toyota Tacoma hits all the right notes. With an available V6 engine, and a comfortable interior, the 2015 Tacoma is ready for any adventure you are ready to go on. Ranked as the Best Compact Truck for the Monday by U.S. News & World Report for 2014, the Tacoma comes with upgrade technology, such as a 6.1-inch touch-screen display, MP3 capabilities, USB ports, and Bluetooth® phone and music streaming. It’s got everything that the technophile, truck lover could ever need, at a great price. In fact, the 2014 Toyota Tacoma was named a 2014 Excellent Value and the 2014 Most Award Pick-up by IntelliChoice. But this isn’t everything that sets the Tacoma a step ahead of its competition. It’s the little things that make it stand out.

When compared to the competition, the Tacoma’s great interior and exterior features shine even more. For starters, the Toyota Tacoma comes with standard power mirrors and is the only compact pick-up to have this feature, standard. Not only is the Tacoma the only one with standard power mirrors on its lowest trim level, but the Toyota Tacoma Double Cab also comes with standard power locks, something that the 2015 Toyota Tacoma Competition woefully lacks. Shouldn’t these features be standard on all trucks?

If you agree with us and if you’re in the market for a new pick-up, then stop by Haddad Toyota today. The 2015 Toyota Tacoma won’t disappoint.
