Toyota Tacoma – 2015 Best Resale Value Award Winner

Every year, Kelley Blue Book’s KBB.com releases their list for the Top 10 2015 Best Resale Value Awards and we are excited that this year the vehicle toping their list is none other than the 2015 Toyota Tacoma. While we love the Tacoma, and think it’s always a great buy, we are surprised that it would be ranked so high the year before a major redesign.

Kelley Blue Book looks at the vehicles’ predicted resale values after 5 years and after 3 years. Every vehicle on the top 10 list this year will maintain over half of its resale value after 5 years of ownership, but the 2015 Toyota Tacoma is predicted to retain much more.

After 3 years of ownership, the 2015 Tacoma is expected to maintain 74.9% of its value. This means that if you paid the starting MSRP of $20,765 this year, by 2018, your Tacoma would still be worth $15,552.99. After 5 years, so by 2020, your Tacoma would retain 60.4% of its value and be worth $12,542.06. This is really impressive considering that the average car normally retains only about 40% of its value after a five-year period. So, if you’re looking to make an investment into your future, why not stop by Haddad Toyota today to check out the all-new 2015 Toyota Tacoma, KBB.com’s winner of the 2015 Best Resale Value Award.

2015 Toyota Highlander – A Mid-sized SUV Best Buy

Toyota Highlander with Muppets On Side
Not only is the New 2015 Highlander Fun, but it also maintains a large portion of its purchase price helping to make it Kelley Blue Book’s KBB.com’s choice for the mid-sized SUV best buy.

When you think of the Toyota Highlander, the first thing you might think of could be the Muppets, thanks to Toyota’s successful advertising campaign that started last year during the super bowl.

Yet, the Highlander is so much more than a fun drive able car with “No Room for Boring” as the commercial touts. The highlander is an affordably priced, sleek, safe mid-sized SUV, and we aren’t the only ones who’ve noticed. Kelley Blue Book’s KBB.com recently released their Best Buys of 2015 list awards, and the 2015 Toyota Highlander won first place in the Midsize SUV category.

With a stylish exterior, powerful engine, and 5-star safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and a Top Safety Pick+ rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), the 2015 Toyota Highlander is a lot more than fun. It’s the perfect family car. Add in the easy-fold 2nd and 3rd rows of seats and the Entune Infotainment system, and purchasing the 2015 Toyota Highlander as your next family car becomes a no-brainer. Guess What Automaker is the Top Ranked Auto Brand?

Toyota Fuel Cell Logo
Toyota’s high ranking in Interbrand’s Best Global Brands Report as the top automaker brand was earned in part because of their dedication to finding green energy sources and building vehicles capable of using them such as this Fuel Cell vehicle shown off at the North American International Auto Show earlier this year.

Recently Interbrand released their list of the Top Global Brands and once again, Toyota is the top ranked auto brand on the list. They improved their ranking from last year’s ten spot to eighth this year. How did they do it amidst what people have referred to as the “Year of the Recall” for the automotive industry? Well for starters, Toyota didn’t run away from the issues it was presented with – they faced them head on. Toyota also announced several exciting plans this year to help keep on top. One such plan is the brand’s planned move from California to Texas for more economical and efficiency savings.

Toyota also was ranked second in Interbrand’s Best Global Green Brands index, showing how important finding green energy sources, developing new hybrid technology and saving the environment are to the brand, as if having the Prius as well as the Camry Hybrid, Avalon Hybrid, and Highlander Hybrid models weren’t enough. Furthermore, Toyota is known for its great dependable cars, trucks, and SUVs. In fact, 80% of all Toyotas sold in the last twenty years are still on the road today.

In combination with all of the exciting new technology released at Auto Shows over the past few years, it’s easy to see how Toyota not only is the top ranked auto brand, but they even moved up two spots to be the eighth overall global brand. Stop by Haddad Toyota today to learn first-hand how Toyota earned this ranking from Interbrand by test driving one of our great models today.

The Toyota Everyday Heroes announced at the epsnW Women+ Sports Summit this past week and all of the women honored help run non-profits that are focused on helping women and girls be active.

In 2013 at the espnW Women + Sports Summit, Toyota began their Toyota Everyday Heroes program to honor women who are making a difference for women and girls in their communities through sports. This past week, Toyota announced the winners for the second-year of the Everyday Heroes, and we too, wanted to take some time to honor the three 2014 Toyota Everyday Heroes.

First, there is Dr. Kimberly S. Clay. She founded the Play Like a Girl non-profit. This is a resource that promots physical activity to help motivate young girls to have an active lifestyle. The non-profit’s programs target girls from 8-18 and helps them make healthier lifestyle choices by educating them about food and exercise.

The next recipient of the 2014 Toyota Everyday Heroes award is Monica Gonzales. She was a former professional soccer player and she is a current ESPN soccer commentator. She founded Gonzo Soccer, a soccer and leadership academy non-profit for Chicago girls from 8-16. This non-profit has expanded and Gonzo Soccer now has academies in Houston, Chicago, Columbia, and Mexico.

The third and final recipient of Toyota’s Everyday Heroes award went to Claire Smallwood, the executive director and one of the founders of the non-proft, SheJumps. This non-profit is designed to get women and girls outside, enjoying the great outdoors together, and increase their overall participation in outdoor sports. The non-profit is set up for women of all ages and of all skill levels to have opportunities to find new activities or just new people to do them with.

We just want to say thank you to these three great women and thank you to all of the heroes right here in our community. You help make our country, and our town a better place. Let us here at Haddad Toyota know who you think from our community is an Everyday Hero in the comments below.

#1 For A Reason – Toyota Camry

2014 Toyota Camry
The 2014 Toyota Camry is one of the safest cars on the road, receiving a 5-star safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. It’s over all safety and top quality parts have helped the Camry be at the top of the list of new cars for U.S. buyers for the past 12 years!

Did you know that the Toyota Camry is the best-selling car in the United States? In fact, it’s been the bestselling car in the U.S. for the past 12 years and the 2015 Toyota Camry coming out later this year promised to deliver more of the same dependable, reliable performance that we have come to expect from this great car. In fact, over 90% of all Camrys sold in the last ten years are still on the roads today! (We suspect the other 10% were used for movie stunt productions and therefore blown up and unable to be driven after such intense Hollywood stunts).

The Toyota Camry time and time again has proven its long-term worth and people are taking notice. IntelliChoice, an automotive analysis company, rated the 2014 Toyota Camry as the having the highest retained value in its class.

While all of this is great, we can’t sell the Camry any better than it can sell itself so be sure to come by Haddad Toyota to test drive the best car in the U.S. today. You won’t forget it!

The Haddad Toyota Team

Haddad Toyota – a Western MA Toyota Dealership located in Berkshire County – has been named a 2013 Toyota President’s Award winner for the sixth year in a row. The award recognizes Toyota dealerships who meet the highest standards for parts and sales, service, management, and customer satisfaction, and is generally only awarded to the top 10 to 15% of the Toyota dealerships in the country.

“This award is really a tribute to the people at our dealership—our team—and their dedication to our customers,” said George Haddad, owner of Haddad Toyota. “It’s because of them that Toyota is the No. 1 car brand in Berkshire County.”

Recognizing the importance of their teamwork is Eddie Torres, Toyota’s district manager for the area, who has worked with the group for more than 14 years. He says that the award isn’t one that just honors the dealership, it also recognizes the contribution of every individual who works for Haddad Toyota.
“I visit a lot of dealerships throughout the region and Haddad Toyota always comes straight to mind when I stress the importance of putting customers first,” said Torres.

Something for Everyone – The 2014 Toyota Avalon

2014 Toyota Avalon
The 2014 Toyota Avalon is the perfect mix of luxury and pracitcality.

The 2014 Toyota Avalon was named by Kelley Blue Book’s KBB.com as having the Best Resale Value in its class, but that’s not the only things that is so impressive about the full-sized sedan. Coming in four trims, XLE, XLE Premium, XLE Touring, and Limited, as well as having three Hybrid trims, the 2014 Toyota Avalon truly does have something for everyone.

Its sleek interior makes it one of the most comfortable rides for its class. With standard heated front seats, a 6.1-inch touch screen, hands free phone technology, and steering wheel mounted audio controls on all trims, the 2014 Avalon will impress even the most difficult of critics. With options for a leather steering wheel and heated rear seats, there is no end to luxury.

However, the Avalon’s performance is just as impressive. With a standard powerful 3.5L V6, 268 horse-power engine, the Avalon will help you zoom to your destination in style. Scott O’Connell – Haddad Toyota’s Truck Champion

Scott O'Connell Toyota Truck Champion 2007 Award Ceremony
Scott O’Connell at the Toyota Truck Champion 2007 Award Ceremony at the Toyota plant in Evensville, Indiana where he was granted the Title of Toyota Truck Champion.

In this week’s blog post, we are featuring our very own Scott O’Connell. He is our very own Toyota Truck Champion. In 2007, he was given this title and he hasn’t let go of it since! Check out our interview with him to learn more about his love of trucks and his goal to be the #1 Salesman in the Boston Region (including MA, VT, NH, and ME).

Scott O'Connell' Father's 1972 Land Cruiser
Scott O’Connell’s father drove this 1972 Land Cruiser when he was a kid, starting Scotty’s love for all things Toyota.

Why do you love trucks?

I’ve always had a passion for trucks ever since I was a kid. That’s all. I remember my father driving. I still have pictures of his 1972 Land Cruiser. I would say I enjoy the “truck customer” just as much as the vehicle, they are all very different yet so alike.

Do you drive a truck? If so, what type?

I do, I have a Sequoia. This is built on the Tundra chassis but has third row seating.

What is your favorite truck?

This is easy, 2014 Tundra Crew Max Limited with a TRD package. I think the black wheels make the truck.  I must add that the new 1794 model is a great addition to the lineup this year.

This is the Toyota Tundra TRD Rock Warrior Edition. It is Scott O’Connell’s father’s new truck and one of Scott’s favorite trucks.

What is it about truck sales that has really lit a fire under you?

It really all started in 2007 when Toyota elected me to be the Truck Champion. This was a great opportunity to educate the everyday customer and the commercial truck industry about the capabilities of Toyota Trucks. With the release of the new Tundra in 2007 we were able to finally fulfill the commercial truck owners needs with over 10,000 pounds of towing capability, residential and commercial plowing up-fittings, and provide the highest resale value and lowest cost of ownership in its class.

Do you think truck owners (or prospective owners) all have something in common?

Yes. They generally have researched the vehicle thoroughly, compared all competitors and most of all want to deal with someone who can “talk truck.” They don’t want to sit with someone who hasn’t gone out there and worked these trucks everyday like they do. I was a contractor in previous years, I pull a boat all summer and a snowmobile trailer all winter, I understand all of the capabilities of this truck.

Scott O'Connell and his friends towing railers and snow mobiles
From his trips with his friend, Scott knows first hand that Toyota’s are ready to tow a heavy load.

What would reaching this milestone and becoming the number 1 truck salesman in New England mean?

I ranked 4th behind some of the best dealers out there, you get to know the other large truck dealers, and these guys do a great job. To rank ahead of them knowing how aggressive and creative they are at planning truck events, marketing to their customers and overall sales excellence is a huge accomplishment.

We started with Berkshire County, now every time you turn your head there is a Tundra driving by. Next we expanded out to eastern Mass, New York State and up to Vermont. Next is the entire Boston Region which ranges all the way to Maine. Knowing that you are the one putting the best built truck on the road and providing accurate information to more customers than anyone else out there would be the greatest reward to my 12 years of hard work to help grow this new truck into the number one position it belongs in.

Check back with us later to learn more about Scott O’Connell’s quest to become #1 or stop by Haddad Toyota to help him on his way or just wish him luck!

Best Cars for the Money: 2014 Toyota Camry & Tacoma

2014 Camry - 2014 Best Cars for the Money
2014 Toyota Camry – One of the Best Cars for its Cost

The new 2014 Toyota Camry and 2014 Toyota Tacoma have been named U.S. News and World Report’s “2014 Best Cars for the Money,” with the Camry taking top honors in the Best Midsize Car category and the Tacoma doing the same in the Best Compact Truck segment.

At 25 mpg in the city and 35 mpg on the highway, the Camry is one of the most fuel-efficient midsize sedans on the market. Toyota’s engineers have also gone to great lengths to ensure the 2014 model would shed its predecessor’s reputation of being a bore. That’s no easy task for a car designed to be economical—but auto writers agree it successfully pulled it off.

For consumers seeking a solution to all their light towing needs, no vehicle compares to the 2014 Toyota Tacoma. It’s easier to maneuver than full-size pickups thanks to its smaller body, but still delivers when it comes to doing the heavy lifting.
