The latest and greatest Toyota Prius launched at the 2016 New York International Auto Show to much awe from the crowd. Known as the Prius Prime, this plug-in hybrid offers better range, increased fuel efficiency, and more features than the previous model. Needless to say, the 2017 Toyota Prius Prime debut made every green driver’s dream come true.
Just two years ago, the Prius has an electric-only range of 11 miles on a full charge. In addition to that small distance, it lacked quite a few features. Now, the latest Prius proves Toyota takes customer input into account.
The Prius Prime comes with double the range, 22 miles on a full charge, of its predecessor. When the electric motor and gasoline engine work together, fuel economy comes to more than an EPA-estimated120 mpge.
This time around, the hybrid is powered by an 8.8-kWh battery pack that pushes out 127 hp. When the Prius runs on the electric motor alone, it can hit a top speed of 84 mph. Even better, the battery can be charged at any home AC outlet. It can take up to five and a half hours for the battery to reach a full charge.
We here at Haddad Toyota are hyped to see the latest Prius hitting the markets!
The New York International Auto Show is upon us, and lots of exciting new things have been revealed, including the addition of an eighth hybrid vehicle to Toyota’s lineup – the 2016 RAV4 Hybrid!
According to a Toyota press release, the 2016 RAV4 Hybrid will be “targeted towards young adventure-seeking couples looking for a vehicle that provides utility, versatility, capability and excellent fuel efficiency.”
The RAV4 Hybrid will feature electronic all-wheel drive with intelligence (AWD-i) and an engine that delivers more horsepower and acceleration than the conventional gas model of the RAV4.
Along with the addition of a hybrid option, the conventional RAV4 will enjoy a refresh for the 2016 model year.
Some new features on the 2016 RAV4 will include a Bird’s Eye View Monitor, subscription to SiriusXM radio, a leather steering wheel, upgraded interior materials, and available touch-screen infotainment system.

The 2015 Toyota Camry launches in the United States the second week of September, and we couldn’t be more excited. As you know, the 2015 Toyota Camry has been the #1 car in American for years and we can see why. It’s sleek exterior, spacious interior and Toyota dependability have made a difference to all the loyal Toyota buyers out there. Last week at a press conference, Robert Carter, the senior VP of Toyota’s automotive operations in the United States had this to say:
“This is a mega change to Camry and the most expensive mid-cycle change in our company’s history,” Carter started. “We are fully committed to keeping Camry No. 1 for a long time to come.”
The 2015 Camry has an updated exterior appearance with all new exterior panels except the roof turret while maintaining the same frame as its 2014 model. The powertrain is the same and the interior changes are more minimal. While the changes for the 2015 Toyota Camry might not seem drastic, Carter hinted at big changes to come in the future.
“The next chapter in Toyota’s history will focus on design, fun-to-drive and killer interiors,” he said.
