Toyota has always been at the forefront of environmentally conscious technology. The Prius is one of the most popular hybrid vehicles in the world, and the development of the Toyota Mirai, a hydrogen-powered fuel cell vehicle (FCV), is ushering on the next phase of environmentally friendly vehicles.
So what better way is there to celebrate Toyota’s FCV than to showcase it on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., for Earth Day?!
Toyota and Earth Day Network sponsored the Global Citizen 2015 Earth Day celebration on April 17-19. During the celebration, people were able to get up close and personal with the Mirai to check out all of its groundbreaking features.
“The Toyota Mirai represents a turning point in automotive history,” said Bob Carter, senior vice president, automotive operations, Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc. “After more than 20 years of research and development, we are excited to bring Mirai to American driveways. Earth Day 2015 is a great platform to educate the public about hydrogen fuel cell technology and the potential of hydrogen as a future fuel.”
The Toyota Mirai will be available as a 2016 model. Until then, be sure to check out our other Hybrid Vehicles at Haddad Toyota today!
